This week we spent a day at Floyd Lamb State Park just a few short miles from our house. This park is a small retreat for Las Vegans from the brown, dry, and hot desert that we live in. The park is covered in grass and huge tall trees with small little ponds scattered throughout the park.

We packed everyone in the car including Roxy and headed off to the park for a picnic lunch and fishing. Ava has been fishing before in the ocean, but Bryce has never been before. We bought him a new fishing pole and he was so excited to try it out. It seemed like I cast the line out and he reeled it in at least 20 times before he got bored.
The kids fed the ducks and tried to stay away from the geese. Ava started to panic every time they got close, but Bryce had no fear and decided to try to hand feed one of them! As you can imagine, it got his finger. He scrambled up the bank, but then went right back to feeding them.
Braden ended up catching one little sunfish, but released it before I had a chance to capture the moment. It's funny...despite how uneventful the afternoon was, the kids had a great time. It just reminds me how exciting the ordinary can be!
